In a heartening call to action, Mr. Oluwadare Jolumo, the Permanent Secretary of the Ekiti State Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, stirred the Ministry’s staff to embrace the spirit of compassion and benevolence this festive season.
Encouraging an ethos of kindness, he urged them to extend a helping hand to their neighbors, emphasizing the importance of sharing blessings during these trying times, particularly when many are facing economic challenges due to recent subsidy adjustments.
During the Ministry’s 2023 service of carols and lessons in Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Jolumo passionately advocated for a culture of giving, drawing parallels to the altruism exhibited by Jesus Christ, who selflessly sacrificed for the redemption of humanity from the grasp of sin.
Also, Mr. Taiwo Ajobiewe, the Ministry’s Director of Expenditure, expounded upon the profound significance of Jesus Christ as the ultimate gift to the world, one that bestows unparalleled joy, contentment, and peace—a gift beyond worldly offerings.
In an uplifting message during an end-of-year thanksgiving service organized by the Ministry, Dr. Kolade Kayo-Ajayi, Chairman of the Ekiti State branch of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), emphasized the necessity of introspection. Quoting from the Book of Revelations, he highlighted the significance of evaluating personal contributions throughout the year, underscoring God’s unwavering benevolence towards humanity.
Dr. Kayo-Ajayi commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration for prioritizing the welfare of state workers through timely remuneration, underscoring the reciprocal commitment expected from employees to justify such care.
Expressing gratitude for Dr. Kayo-Ajayi’s visit and prayers during this significant time of reflection, Mr. Jolumo acknowledged the invaluable significance of reaching the year’s end, a testament to God’s grace that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
