A former senator representing Ekiti Central, Babafemi Ojudu, has thrown his weight behind the BAOWALK Initiative, a fitness and social engagement program spearheaded by former House of Representatives member, Hon. Bimbo Daramola.
The initiative, aimed at fostering physical well-being and strategic connections, is set to debut in Ikole-Ekiti on Saturday between 7 am and 9 am. The program has already garnered the support of key stakeholders across the state.
During a courtesy visit by the organizing team, Ojudu lauded Daramola for conceptualizing the walk, which he described as a timely intervention for promoting both health and mental alertness. He also pledged to participate when the event reaches Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Daramola, who previously represented Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency, disclosed that the BAOWALK would rotate across all local government areas in Ekiti on a monthly basis. He assured that the initiative would be sustained beyond the 2026 governorship election in the state.
Ojudu noted that the program aligns with the growing need for lifestyle modification and personal responsibility, emphasizing the importance of regular exercise for overall well-being.
The former senator also commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s leadership, highlighting his efforts in fostering unity among political stakeholders since assuming office.
