…Says Ekiti APC will resist divide and rule tactics
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has vowed that divide and rule tactics will not be tolerated within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aribasoye, who attended the party meeting at Ward 10 in Oke Ayedun/Esun Ekiti, his constituency, urged party faithful to be wary of disruptive elements seeking to hijack power without any positive agenda for the party and the people.
The Speaker affirmed that the ward is fully supportive of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second term bid ahead of the October primary election, while also reaffirming his own loyalty and that of the entire Ikole Constituency Two to the advancement of the APC.
“I must say emphatically that for us in this ward and constituency, we are for Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, BAO 100 Percent. President Tinubu is also our recognised candidate ahead of the bigger election, and APC is the platform we know, not any other emerging or existing political party,” he declared.
With new members and defectors joining daily, Aribasoye encouraged older members to be accommodating and avoid discrimination based on when anyone joined the party.
“Nobody is a newcomer in our party and in this ward. The party is spacious enough to accommodate new entrants and converts. However, your level of input, commitment, and dedication will determine the heights you’ll reach in the party. So, let’s keep working with utmost dedication,” he advised.
He further charged party members not to lose focus but to remain circumspect and avoid being lured into wrong political associations.
On the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, the lawmaker reminded residents that possession of a voter card is the true validation of their franchise, urging them to spread the message and mobilise others in order to boost the voting strength of the party.
While preaching harmony among elders and leaders of Ward 10, Aribasoye also counselled the rank and file to respect and honour the leadership structure of the party.
Leaders and members took turns to commend the Speaker for his massive mobilisation efforts in the ongoing voter registration exercise and for aligning with Governor Oyebanji’s development agenda, noting that he has facilitated immense benefits to the community.
The Speaker presented a cash donation to the ward in support of the meeting before proceeding to the market square within the area, where he patronised traders and distributed food items and cash to people in his constituency.
