The endorsement of the Social Democratic party Flagbearer Chief Segun Oni as the next Governor of Ekiti State has continued to gain ground as more stakeholders, including critical institutions, have thrown their weight behind his aspiration.
Chief Oni rounded off his familiarization tour and Inauguration of the party Secretariats in all the sixteen Local Government Areas.
Addressing the electorate, Chief Oni said that the visit was necessary and timely, and that it was aimed at familiarizing with members of the party and the people while he also reassure them of his readiness to serve the state in his best capacity.

Some Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressive Congress defectors in Ado, Irepodun Ifelodun and Ekiti South West Local Government Areas as well as youths from many local government areas of the state pledged to support Chief Oni
The Director General of Chief Segun Oni Campaign Organization Ambassador Dare Bejide, Mr Shina Awelewa a barrister, and Mr Ife Arowosoge said that the party Flagbearer should be assessed based on his capacity and competency.
Also the Ekiti Central senatorial District hopeful Mr Olusesan Arowolo and a House of Representatives aspirant in Ado/Irepodun Ifelodun federal constituency Mr Razak Temitayo described Chief Oni as a man endowed by God with both physical and mental capacity. They urged the people of the state to vote for Chief Oni whom they described as God’s and People’s Agenda.
Others who spoke during the tour described the SDP gubernatorial candidate as a grassroots person who has lived and grew up in the rural areas and understands the plight of the people in the grassroots.
