TRANSPORT UNIONS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR OYEBANJI, AS GOVERNMENT WARNS AGAINST BRIGANDAGE.

Leaders of transport unions in Ekiti State have promised to do everything within their capacity to promote peace and development in the state in order to make the agenda of the Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji towards empowerment for the private sector a success.

The Ekiti State chairman, National Union of Roads Transport Workers (NURTW) Chief Joseph Falope a.k.a Olofooro, chairman Commercial Motorcyclists Association, (CMA), Mr kunle Asaolu and the Chairman, Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Mr Sunday Adeola a.k.a Abokode agreed to work in absolute  loyalty for the success of Gov Biodun Oyebanji.

The leadership of transport worker in the state made this known after they were led to the office of Secretary to the State Government, Dr Habibat Adubiaro by the leader of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC) Chief Niyi Adedipe Known as Apase Odua.

According to them, the present government has shown the readiness to serve, hence it must be given the needed support to ensure rapid development within the state.

The Ekiti State OPC leader, Chief Niyi Adedipe known as Apase Odua said the visit was to familiarize the leaders of the drivers’ union with government in order to facilitate and ensure a symbiotic relationship.

Apase who promised to continue working with all relevant organizations towards building a peaceful and safe society noted that Governor Biodun Oyebanji was one of the founding fathers of the state hence the need to make the dream of economic prosperity achievable for the state.

The Secretary to the State Government , Dr. Habibat Adubiaro disclosed that government would create an enabling environment for all associations and organizations for individual and collective  socio- politico-economic prosperity.

Dr Adubiaro who acknowledged the role of the commercial transporters in the development of the state urged them to shun any act of brigandage.

The SSG noted that the present administration of Biodun Oyebanji had lofty programmes for unions, associations and residents of Ekiti State to make life meaningful for them.

She said:

“You need to support our government to achieve success so that we can also support your programmes. We dearly need you during the forthcoming presidential, National Assembly and House of Assembly election to vote for all candidate of All Progressive Congress for continuity of good governance.

You are drivers, you are closed to the people due to the nature of your job, tell your passengers about present administration’s plan to ameliorate the suffering of the masses”

Dr Adubiaro urged members of transport unions in the state to see themselves as one and shun any act that can lead to crisis.
