SECURITY: AYEIKIRE LG CHAIRMAN, FADUMIYE ALLAYS RESIDENTS’ FEAR, COMMITTEE ON COMMUNITY POLICING INAUGURATED

Owing to the security challenges faced across the nation, particularly, the spate of kidnapping in various communities, Aiyekire Local Government in Ekiti State has taken the bull by the horn by inaugurating stakeholders in the locality to concert efforts with the Nigerian Police Force at ensuring safety for the people.

At the event held within the premises of the council, a top official of the force, CSP Kadiri Thomas noted that it became expedient for all residents to be security conscious at the safety of individual and the community is a responsibility that all must be committed to.

Members of the committee include the Local Government Chairman, Secretary to the Local Government, Representatives of Artisans, Drivers’ Unions religious leaders among other stakeholders in the area.

The council boss, Prince Fadumiye Ayodele doubling as the chairman for the committee on community policing decried the anxiety and fears that insecurity had caused in the minds of the residents. He said the issue was already having multiplier effect on all aspects of the socio economic life of the people, promising to give priority to the welfares of the community police officers with monthly renumeration.

In a statement issued and signed by the Press Officer, Mr Micheal Adesuyi, the council chairman urged members of the committee and residents not to hesitate in providing tip offs for the security agents. He assured them that his office is open for any assistance needed by the Community police officers and members of the community, reiterating his commitment to the safety of life and property from criminal elements around.

Community leaders at the occasion include Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Ogunjobi Esan Mr. Oluwagbaye Olaniyi, D.P.O Of the area, Ayinla Ruben, and the Olode Of Ode Ekiti Oba Aderiye Olode who was represented by Chief Oni Micheal.
