The former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, orchestrated a jubilant gathering of APC faithfuls at his countryside residence, Isan Ekiti, in his usual tradition of hosting the political juggernauts and field experts during the festive season.
Fayemi who cautioned against internal conflicts within the political party noted that it was important to safeguard their hard-earned victories, assuring that the BAO administration would extend numerous appointments to satisfy party members.
The Speaker, Ekiti state House of Assembly Rt Hon Aribasoye who represented Ekiti North, articulated sentiments on behalf of assembly members and Fayemi’s proteges, asserting that while Kayode Fayemi belongs to all of Ekiti, Ekiti North stands as the specific custodian of JKF.
Drawing an analogy, he likened Fayemi to a foundation supporting exquisite houses, emphasizing the foundational role Fayemi plays, and continue to play in the development of the state.
Moved by the party’s new slogan, “ao gbele mo” (We are not letting go of power again), Fayemi emphasized the need for continuity within the party and urged Ekiti residents to back the Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji government, highlighting that only with the party in power can equitable appointments be made.
Fayemi pledged to stand with Governor Oyebanji, expressing confidence in the governor’s commitment to settling all necessary dues.
The gathering witnessed the presence of distinguished figures such as Her Excellency Former First Lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, Sen. Yemi Adaramodu, Hon. Stephen Adeoye Aribasoye (Speaker, House of Assembly), Hon. Ibrahim Olanrenwaju (SSA to President on Legislative Matters), Hon. Sola Elesin (Party Vice Chairman), House of Assembly members, Commissioners, former appointees of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and Party Executives from all 16 local government areas.
