Igede Ekiti

One of the many Yoruba adages that show that good deeds are gratifying is “Eni ba Domi siwaju, atele tutu, whosoever wets the ground will definitely walk the soft moisturized ground”

The problems faced by the Nigerian political sphere are not unconnected with allowing opportunists, Charlatans, quacks, unprepared minds, people with no history, no good antecedents and visionless leaders to saddle the boat of our destiny. How long shall we continue to complain?

One of the very few faces we have consistently seen in the genuine service to humanity and community development in Ekiti State today is Barrister Victor Olumuyiwa Kolade VOK.

Aside from being an achiever in his legal chosen career, VOK is a model to the younger generations, he is sincere and has continued to show concerns on how best to actualize individual and collective development of Ekiti people.

He has through various programs and initiatives assisted the youths, women, the aged, the farmers, artisans, and different sectors of the demography making sure that people are educationally and economically empowered.

All these he was doing while he was not an elected or appointed political office holder. This must have geared his constituents in the Ekiti Central Federal Constituency 11 comprising Efon, Ekiti West and Ijero to clamour for his representation at the National Assembly. No doubt he was loved across party lines.

Hardly will anyone mention VOK in these Local governments areas and would say the name is unfamiliar, VOK is a household name. Barr Kolade is accessible, friendly and caring and has never left home for once. He has always been with the people even while he was garnering his national and international exposures. He understands the political terrain and has the feelings of his people since he is a product of the area.

There is no better hand to handle the work of quality representation rather than allowing VOK.  His aspiration is a collective project of the people devoid of political sentiments. This is very rare in the current Nigerian Polity where members of a political party see others on the other side as staunch rivals. VOK is a rallying point for his people and his aspiration has gone beyond ordinary support.

The people are so much confident and are putting everything at stake to ensure good representation this time around from the man they trusted.
