The Ekiti State Governor Mr Biodun Oyebanji has said that the Government is intensifying efforts to incorporate the knowledge of Artificial Intelligence into the curriculum of Primary and secondary schools in the state as a way of propelling the next generation towards technological leadership.
The Governor made this known at the fifth edition of the Southwest Secretaries of State Governments forum held in Ado Ekiti, organized by the DAWN commission where he expressed the readiness of the administration to collaborate with relevant stakeholders at making the state a technology and innovation hub of Nigeria.
Governor Oyebanji who noted that the state was taking every possible route to economic prosperity highlight the need for regional collaboration at tackling the economic, security and transportation challenges facing the south west region of the country.
He stressed the importance of technology in the economic landscape of every country saying that it was hightime the southwest region made actionable steps at actualizing the agenda of the DAWN commission.
The DAWN commission Director General of Dr Seye Oyeleye who explained that the strategic development plans of the region include Rail system, Agriculture and Artificial intelligence lauded the government for the vision, charging state governments in the region to take the plans more seriously.
Members of the forum including the Ekiti State SSG Prof Habibat Adubiaro, Lagos state SSG as well as top government functionaries fromn the six states in the region were in attendance.
