Former speaker Rt. Hon. Adelugba felicitates 7th Assembly, describes current leadership as perfect combo for viable legislature

The immediate past Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Rt. Hon Olubunmi Adelugba has congratulated has congratulated the leadership of the Ekiti State 7th House of Assembly on the recent inauguration which saw Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye as the new speaker and Rt. Hon. Bolaji Olagbaju as the Deputy Speaker.

In a statement made available to Journalists in Ado Ekiti, Rt. Hon. Adelugba described the emergence of Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye who represents Ikole Constituency 2 and the Deputy Speaker from Ado Constituency 2 as a demonstration of an expected organized and coordinated legislature in the state.

The former Speaker who described her successor as a loyal, competent and capable leader who understands the nitty-gritty of legislation being a lawyer and having served the assembly in different capacities, said she had no doubt that the new leadership of the house would do the state proud.

She expressed delight in the emergence of a female as a deputy speaker which she alluded to one of the legacies political gender balancing in the state, adding that Mrs Bolaji Olagbaju was a progressive party woman whose leadership would complement and aid the progressive activism and good governance of in the state.

The former speaker noted that Olagbaju hailed from a good home of the former deputy Governor Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi and following the good example of Erelu Bisi Fayemi will not let the state down in her legislative duties. “I am particularly happy that Bolaji is filling the position of baba in politics, she is well prepared for the job and I am confident she will do well.

Rt Hon Adelugba charged the leadership of the house to consolidate the achievements of the sixth assembly, surpass it and further intensify efforts to sponsor bills and enact laws that will further make Ekiti people enjoy dividends of Democracy as well as work in synergy with the Governor and his cabinet to make Ekiti prosperous as he desired in his agenda.

She called on the Assembly members to work in tandem with the visions of Governor Oyebanji for the good people of Ekiti State praying that God will give them sound health and wisdom to represent their various Constituencies well.

In Her word,

“When there is a synergy between the legislative and executive arms of government, it enables the citizens to enjoy dividends of democracy to the fullest.”
I must commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for not interfering with the processing of electing the new leaders of the house.

This is an a perfect example of separation of power which will strengthening our developing democracy”
I congratulate all the principal officers, Hon. Tolu Ige,the Majority leader, Hon Bose Olowokere, Chief Whip, Hon. Yomi Ayorinde, Deputy Majority leader, Alhaja Mariam Ogunlade, Deputy Whip and Hon. Dele Ogunsakin, Minority Leader and everybody in the house.

They must remember that they are to serve Ekiti people and they must do that with all sincerity of purpose.

We left a good foot print within the few month of my leadership therein and I am happy that someone very much capable is taking over.

I congratulate Governor Oyebanji also for his leadership styles. He is really sustaining the good legacies of Governor Kayode Fayemi and his body language is making many good things fall in place.

I pray God crowns all his efforts towards keeping Ekiti working and prosporous
