A total of 125 staff and students of Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti have received training from an international NGO known as PROFESSORS WITHOUT BORDERS (PROWIBO).
A statemt by the Head of the Directorate of Information and corporate affairs of the school, Mr Bode Olofinmuagun explained that the 5 day training which began on Monday, 24th July, 2023 was declared open on behalf of the Vice Chancellor by Professor Ayantunji Adeleke, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development).
Participants were divided into 5 groups to ensure effective coordination and participation.
At the closing ceremony held at the Twin Lecture hall, Faculty of the Social Sciences, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Professor Babatola Ayodele conveyed the Vice Chancellor’s appreciation to members of PROWIBO for selecting EKSU as a beneficiary of the training programme.
The Vice Chancellor also commended the participants for their good conduct throughout the training and charged them to make the best use of the knowledge acquired in the interest of Ekiti State University.
He also appreciated the Executive Governor of Ekiti State and Visitor to the university, His Excellency, Biodun Oyebanji for creating an enabling environment for both academic and administrative activities in the university.
In her remarks, the leader of the team, Professor Rachel Warnick said that PROWIBO is dedicated to improving education in developing countries, hence the training aimed at training lecturers and students on new teaching techniques in the 21st century.
Participants at the end of the training were awarded certificates. They described the exercise as interesting and innovative and commended PROWIBO and the university Management for the opportunity.
