2023: OLUJIMI’S CAMPAIGN RECEIVES BOOST, GROUP, VPC CHASTISES FMR GOV. FAYOSE, SAYS HE HATES PEOPLE OF GBONYIN LG

Ahead of the 2023 elections, a socio-political group, Vanguard for Positive Change VPC has thrown her weight behind the ambition of the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, for the Ekiti South Senatorial District, Senator Biodun Olujimi.

The group however condemned the position of some miscreants in Gbonyin local government who have declared to vote against the ranking Senator during the election but support the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on the claim that senator Olujimi did not extend any dividend to them.

In a statement, Chairman of the Vanguard for Positive Change, Hon. Gbenga Aladeloba described Senator Olujimi as a trail blazer whose impacts on the senatorial district could not be quantified.

Hon. Aladeloba noted that the claim by the group was a pure lie masterminded by their sponsor, Governor Ayodele Fayose to malign and denigrate the person of Senator Olujimi who has done well for residents of Ekiti South Senatorial District.

According to Hon. Aladeloba , Senator Olujimi is the best Senator so far in the state, saying the decision of the PDP members to declare against her was not their wish but the handiwork of former Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Ajisafe said:”What is even their weight in the council area? how can some group of people who can not even win their wards take position for PDP members in Gbonyin local government.

“Throughout the tenure of Fayose as governor of Ekiti State, Gbonyin local government did not benefit anything from him, all we got was through Senator Biodun Olujimi.

“When he was carrying out road dualization across all the local governments, he denied Gbonyin. In the history of Ekiti State, it was only during Fayose regime that Gbonyin did not have a representative at the State Executive Council which is against the constitution as enshrined in Federal Character law and principle.

The group also alleged that former Governor Fayose denied Gbonyin the chance of getting the ticket for the house of representatives and zoned it to the same local government where he picked Senatorial candidate due to his hatred for the council area .

The concerned group listed some of the achievements of Senator Olujimi to include Construction of six classrooms with furniture in Iro Ekiti,Construction of six classrooms with furniture at Egbeoba, Supply of furniture to Aisegba community Grammar School.

Also, Supply of furniture to Ayo Daramola Memorial Grammar School IJAN-EKITI, Supply of science laboratory equipment to Aisegba Community Grammar School, installation of solar power and construction of boreholes across the wards in Gbonyin LG and distribution of Past questions and answers of relevant subjects from 1988 till date to all the secondary schools in Ekiti South Senatorial District.

So what effrontery did he has to decide who should vote to represent us at the senate on the claim of empowerment.

How many people did he empower from Gbonyin during his unceremonious regime?A 2 term Governor that could not deliver his state constituency not to talk of his senatorial district for PDP.

Fayose has always been portraying himself to be enemy of Gbonyin and Ekiti South.

“We urged our people to disregard the call and support Olujimi for better dividends of democracy.
