EKITI YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ENDORSE RT HON. RICHARD OLUFEMI BAMISILE FOR DEPUTY SPEAKER AT THE NIGERIA’S 10TH HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
About us, Ekiti Young Professionals
The group of non-partisan young talented men and women, home –based and in diaspora, who are making exploits in their various chosen careers, well informed and concerned with the well-being and shared prosperity of Ekiti state and Nigeria as a whole.
Devoid of any influences, we make critical positions on economic, health, environment, education, security and political matters to safeguard the citizens from disasters.
One of the missions of the group is to raise voices for Nigerian Youths in leadership, politics and governance, considering the high level of marginalization in the scheme of things despite the NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN BILL sponsored by several civil society groups, including YIAGA Africa which has been signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
After critical analysis, we recommend to government and non-governmental organizations, what our thoughts and advice are, on policies, regulations and politics, which affect the lives of every Nigerian, and especially “EKITI KETE”, on how best to address the matters of concern; for improvement or repulsion.
We believe and stand for the truth, equity and order; putting the round pegs in round holes rather than resorting to sentiments of tribe, ethnicity, partisanship or religion in the selection of handlers of government.
This earns us being one of the most reputable groups in Ekiti state and Nigeria.
Hearing the youths Loud and Clear:
The Presidential election held on the 25th of February is a testament to the fact that Nigerian youths are more awakened ever than before and history is being made, even though there is a question on how proper and well informed an average Nigerian youth in politics is, what we have found to be the answer is the need for proper orientation and re-orientation.
Delivering his acceptance speech after being declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the president-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu affirmed the participation and contribution of the Youth demography in making the electoral process worthwhile. He said he heard (us) youths loud and clear. It is a statement we do not take for granted considering the long suffering of Nigerian youths ranging from unemployment, under-employment, political seclusion, exploitation and shortchanging, which has affected every aspect of our lives.
Based on his campaign mantra, we believe in the renewed hope that the incoming administration will bring for Nigerian youths where will be proud of our father’s land again.
National Assembly Election in Ekiti State:
We are particularly glad that all the political parties in Ekiti state yielded to our call of allowing distinguished and energetic leaders with positive trajectory and good track records, to represent the state in the national legislative business of the country. The results gladden our hearts that distinguished individuals who share our voices and visions emerged as winners in the election. Hon Olusola Fatoba, Hon Akin Rotimi and Hon Olufemi Richard Bamisile are not strangers to good governance and democratic representation.
Our Stand
Even if the executive arm of government intends to create enabling environment self and collective actualization for citizens, no less is the importance of the legislature to creating a Nigeria of our dreams through the sponsors of bill and political will of the leadership of the house in giving consideration to matters of concerns becomes imperative to us.
Re-elected from Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2, we confirm that Rt. (Hon) Richard Olufemi BAMISILE (BAFEM) is a good team player, dependable, with native intelligence of the contemporary Ekiti politics with full understanding of the political dynamics of the country as well as much efforts to address the socio-cultural, political and economic issues of the nation.
His regime as the speaker of the Ekiti state 3rd assembly was the most vibrant legislature the state ever had since its creation, going by the divergent political activism and ideologies of the equal 13-13 membership of The Assembly from PDP and then AC.
Although he represents Ekiti south constituency 2 in the 9th assembly, his position as the Chairman House committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency(FERMA) brought a lot of dividends of democracy to Ekiti state, South-western states and Nigeria at large while he never failed in the mandate of fixing Nigerian roads despite poor funding.
BAFEM has never limited his philanthropy gesture to the people of the state alone, he empowered widows, graded rural roads, organised free Jamb forms and free coaching classes, supported the citizens during the Covid 19 pandemic, got employment for 42 youth at the Federal level, while he appointed 35 senior special Assistants as part of his mentoring program.
Many other initiatives, programs and interventions from Hon Olufemi Bamisile got us beat our chest that BAFEM will fit in into the position of the Deputy Speaker of the 10th National Assembly. Without any equivocation, we call on every Nigerian and elected members of the 10th National assembly to pray, support and vote respectively for Hon Richard Olufemi Bamisile to take more visible roles in the Nigerian legislative duties.
