The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has assured the Muslim Community in the state that more members would will given political appointments as a way to correcting the narratives of marginalization and foster more inclusive governance in the state

 

The Governor who gave the assurance at the Lady Jibowu Hall, Government House Ground Ado Ekiti during  the Breaking of Fast, Iftar with Mr Governor” promised that the present administration would not relent in its promise of putting smile on the faces of the people and making life meaningful.

The Governor who thanked the Muslim faithful in the state for their support and prayers  for his administration explained that his government would continue to run open-door, and a level playing ground for equal access to opportunities in the state irrespective of religious or political affiliations.

 

According to him, Muslim political office holders in the state have continued to demonstrate, commitment, excellence and loyalty to the development of the state as well as more appointments for Muslims in the state.

 

Delivering the Iftar lecture, A clergy,  Imam Abdulfatah Abdulazeez charged residents of Ekiti State to continue maintaining religious harmony and embrace peaceful coexistence for development to thrive

 

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro who commended the Governor  for the recognition given to the Muslims in the state, urged the various religious groups not to relent in their support for the government.

 

In their goodwill messages, a member of  Ekiti State  House of Assembly, Mr Jamiu Kewulre, Coordinator of NACOMYO, Ekiti State, Alhaji Oladele Yusuf and Dr Hammed Bakare noted that the governor had performed beyond expectations, saying the Muslims community would support his political ambition for more dividends of democracy in the state.

 

The programme featured special prayer for the Governor where the President General, League of Imams and Alafas, South West, Edo and States, Sheik Jamiu kewulere,  urged the Governor to continue of the path of wisdom and good governance.
