Teju Okuyiga Urges Love, Unity in Easter Message to Constituents, Lauds Oyebanji’s Giant Strides

The Member representing Gbonyin LCDA and Aiyekire Local Government in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Princess Teju Okuyiga has warmly conveyed her Easter wishes to the people of Ekiti State and her constituents, uing the occasion to emphasize the importance of peace, unity, and selfless service as the guiding values for both leaders and citizens.

Okuyiga who described Easter as a time of hope and renewal, rooted in the resurrection of Jesus Christ noted that the season should go beyond festivities and encourage sober reflection, sacrifice, and compassion—qualities necessary for nation-building and social cohesion.

The lawmaker also hailed the collective spirit and resilience of the people of Gbonyin, saying their support had enabled her to carry out people-focused projects, reiterating her commitment to legislative excellence and continuous grassroots development in line with the yearnings of her constituents.

Highlighting her developmental strides, she cited initiatives in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and legislative advocacy as part of her contributions to improving living standards in the area while vowing to intensify efforts in digital literacy, vocational training, and economic empowerment programs.

Okuyiga stressed the importance of youth engagement and called on young people to steer clear of negative influences. She reaffirmed her dedication to championing policies that promote youth inclusion and prepare them for leadership and innovation.

While advocating greater political participation by women and reaffirmed her stand on gender equality, women’s rights, and protection from gender-based violence, she lauded the contributions of women in community and family life, pledging to remain a strong advocate for their interests.

The lawmaker commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his inclusive governance style and infrastructural development across the state describing him as a people-oriented leader whose collaborative approach had fast-tracked growth and widened opportunities for constituents.

Okuyiga also acknowledged upcoming state and federal interventions in Gbonyin, attributing such to effective partnerships between government and lawmakers.

She urged religious leaders to continue advocating unity and peaceful coexistence, saying such efforts would consolidate gains in security, economic growth, and communal harmony.

She called on families to use the Easter season to bond, help the less privileged, and spread kindness.
