The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has described Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to the independence and welfare of the legislature as a mark of a true progressive mind.
Rt. Hon. Aribasoye, in his remarks at a recent gathering of staff at the State Assembly, noted that the ongoing remodeling of the Assembly complex, which the Governor has assured will be commissioned in October, further attests to the Governor’s desire for a vibrant and independent legislature.
The Speaker, who emphasized commitment, proficiency, and consistency among the Assembly workforce, advised legislative staff to strive not only to surpass past achievements but also to push for greater goals in service delivery.
Highlighting the uniqueness and significance of the mid-year period as an opportunity to take stock and refine strategies, he urged the staff to embrace techniques that would help them remain a winning team.
He recalled the achievements of the 7th Assembly under his leadership, including its pioneering role in ICT integration among state assemblies, the activation of the staff loans board, the departmental training of staff, and the purchase of a coastal bus, among others.
Rt. Hon. Aribasoye congratulated members of the 7th Assembly and the legislative staff for witnessing the second half of the year, as he emphasized the need to continue adding value to the legislative system in order to enhance productivity.
In her remarks, the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Titilope Agbede, thanked the leadership of the 7th Assembly for putting in place modern facilities for staff, applauding the Speaker for the free health initiative of the 7th Assembly and other welfare-driven actions.
