The Ekiti state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) has reacted to the call of the Chairman/CEO of Road Network Global Resources Ltd, Mr Charles Ifidon, the owner of 53 ultra modern shops in Ekiti-ODUA Enterprise Centre, Fmr ODUA Textiles Mill, Old Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti over the release of a Suspect who was alleged to have stolen and vandalized some properties of the company.
According to a report, One Ojo Olawale Matthew, a Native of Iṣẹ Ekiti and resident at Irona Area of Ado Ekiti was caught at Awedele Market Area of Ado Ekiti at the Site of one of the Properties of the Company stealing and vandalizing the roofing sheets and other materials worth millions of Naira meant to complete the project.
The Suspected Serial robber was handed over to the Command’s personnel for trial and peosecution.
The spokesperson of the Command, Mr Tolu Afọlábí while reacting to the allegation that the command had released the suspect without trial and recourse to the complainant said that the officers made calls through to the complainants and witnesses for more than four times but they did not show up.
According to him, the suspect sustained a serious gun injury from an unauthorized armed guard which could terminate his life. He claimed that the command paid all the hospital bills of the suspect without the complainant showing when they were called upon.
He explained that the suspect was granted an administrative bail after meeting the requirement of three sureties and the suspect would be provided anytime the complainant wishes to visit the case.
He called on the complainant to write officially to the command’s Headquarters and request for the case which the command would be ready to immediately provide the suspect.
