I am shocked, deeply saddened – Okuyiga mourns Constituent and Leader of APC in Ekiti

A ranking member of the Seventh-Ekiti Assembly representing Gbonyin/Aiyekire Constituency Hon. Teju Okuyiga has expressed shock over the death of Ekiti State APC chieftain and party Chairman Barr. Paul Omotoso.

In a statement personally signed and made available to the press, Okuyiga, a member representing the diseased constituency in the legislative Assembly expressed shock and sadness that the passionate leader bid the world farewell without any signed of major ailment.

In her words:

I am in shock, and deeply saddened, at the news of the death of Barr. Paul Omotoso on Tuesday.”

“This is really a big blow to the wonderful people of Imesi Ekiti, his hometown, particularly our very own Gbonyin /Aiyekire land and Ekiti State.

His thirst for a progressive agenda for development found a passionate missioner in his leadership and person. There is no gainsaying that APC as a party, the nation as a whole, and the progressive minds community in particular, loss in this sad passage of a senior citizen of note.

Of course, he will be remembered for his articulate voice for democracy, inclusion, and purpose in governance.”

“As we recuperate from the shocking and devastating news of the departure of the legal luminary and Cicero of Gbonyin/Aiyekire land, I am not oblivious of the fact that the deepest pain from this loss is from his immediate family and the good people of Imesi Ekiti.

While condoling with the immediate family, my condolences also go to Kabiyesi Onimesi of Imesi-Ekiti Oba Festus Olatunji Akintunde, the Progressive family nationwide, the government and people of Ekiti State under the leadership of His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) as I urge all to be fully enriched by his legacy of service, love for humanity, and vision of a better nation.
