Building solid foundation for the security and economic prosperity for the people during his administration, the Chairman, Aiyekire Local Government Area of Ekiti state, Hon. Adeoye Davies Adeyemo has held a critical meeting with the Association of Private Sector in the area to chat the way forward on how best government could swiftly respond and address the various challenges facing the informal sector of the council.
At a meeting held in his office on Tuesday, between the Local Government Management and the leadership of the Private Sector, Hon Adeyemo hammered on the need to democratize the economy of the council to benefitting all and sundry particularly in the fulfillment of the shared prosperity agenda of the Oyebanji led administration at the state level.
Adeyemo who applauded the association’s initiative, assured them of his commitment to economic development, employment, and empowerment, urging them to mobilize their members to register with the local government and fulfill their tax obligations to qualify for potential contract awards.
The chairman pledged to adhere strictly to the mandates set by the Oyebanji administration, emphasizing local content development and the equitable distribution of democratic dividends across grass roots in the state.
The Private sector delegation, led by their coordinator, Comrade Olusola Ajayi, alongside representatives from various units, congratulated the new chairman for his victory at the poll, using the opportunity to announce the forthcoming inauguration of their chapter on March 21, 2024 to the council management.
During the visit, the association expressed their unwavering support for Hon Adeyemo positioning themselves as key players in steering the economic trajectory of the council.
Members, including notable figures such as Osanyintunde Foluke, Ogunje Margaret, Hammed Sherifat, Akerele Bola, Adebisi Ogunyemi, and Balogun Iyabo conveyed their confidence in the capacity of the new council leadership to turn the current narratives in the communities to fortunes.
They sought the active support of the Ayekire Local Government in their various businesses, showcasing their commitment to collaborative efforts for the betterment of the community.
The Council delegation includes the Secretary, Honorable Ogunjobi, and HLA Mrs. Dele Daramola who charged the association to channel their official requests in writing to the local government for prompt responses and official documentation.
In a related development, Captain Yusuf of the Nigerian Army, recently redeployed to oversee the Ode Ekiti unit, paid a familiarization visit to Executive Chairman Adeyemo Adeoye Davies.
Welcoming the military official warmly, the Chairman utilized the opportunity to engage in discussions concerning security matters, calling for a harmonious relationship between the military and the residents of Ayekire LG to address security challenges effectively.
The meeting was also attended by Esan Ogunjobi, Mrs. Dele Daramola (HLA), and Adesuyi Michael, the Director of Information and Civic Orientation.
