Amotekun Boss In Ekiti, General Adewa Charges Residents On Adequate Security In 2024

 

… Seeks More Support For Ekiti Amotekun Command

The State Commandant of the Ekiti State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, Brigadier General Ibukun Olu Adewa Retired, has charged the Ekiti State residents on the need to support the Security Outfit by ensuring there is adequate security in the coming year 2024.

The Retired Army Brigadier General in charge of the Ekiti State Amotekun Command, Ibukun Olu Adewa stated the above in a press release he personally signed and sent to Treasure Newspaper in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital on Wednesday.

Adewa, in his press release commended the efforts of all the officers of the corps for their cooperation in 2023 and also seek their further cooperation in the new year 2024 for the Command to continue to succeed in tackling the challenges of insecurity in the State.

Continuing, the retired soldier also appreciated the government of Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for all his support for the Amotekun Command in Ekiti State, most especially, for encouraging and boosting the morale of his officers, to stamp out crime and threats to live and properties in the State.

Also, General Adewa, said that he has been able to effect lots of new developments since he came on board at the Amotekun Command in Ekiti State, part of which is the touring of all the 16 local government areas of the State shortly after assuming office in the month of August, 2023. He added that, within his short stay in office, he has been able to cracked down on so many criminals in places like Ikere, Ise Ekiti, Emure Ekiti, Ogbese, Omuo, Odo Ado area of Ado Ekiti, Ikogosi Ekiti in Ekiti West Local Government Area among others.

He used the opportunity to remind the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to take into full consideration the better welfare and well-being of the Amotekun Officers working assiduously under him to rid the State of crime in the coming year 2024.

He equally thanked the Governor for deeming it fit to increase the salaries of the officers and staff from N20,000 to N30,000 since the month of July, 2023.

Also, he appealed to the Ekiti State Government and the Governor, to do something, to urgently encourage the families of the two officers who recently died during the robbery incident that occurred at Ikere Ekiti early in the month of December, 2023.

He however prayed for the Governor, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, his immediate family, members of his cabinet, all his appointees and his officials and aides for God’s continuous protection, guidance and wisdom to successfully run the affairs of the State in the coming new year 2024 without any hitches.

He also called on the Governor to look and consider the need for his government to provide a permanent office structures for the use of the Amotekun Command in the State, in order to boost the performances of his officers.
