The crisis between the chairman of the Ekiti South West Local Government, Sikira Apolola and the leader of the legislative arm, Gbenga Akomolede has attracted public attention.
Both parties were said to have threw caution to the air in the public a situation which resulted to the chairman slapping the councillor.
To this end, members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ilawe Ward 2 have called on the leadership of the party at the state level to intervene in the crisis and call the chairman to order.
The party loyalist during a peaceful protest to the APC Secretariat alleged that the council chairman has been at logger head with his executives and members of the legislative arm.
The protesters led by the ward Chairman, Mr Dada Lucas, the Secretary, Mr Samuel Durodola, and others explained that their visit to the Secretariat was to call the attention of the party leadership to the matter before the issue degenerates into crisis.
According to them, the chairman recently had issues with the leader of the legislative arm, Gbenga Akomolede where he allegedly slapped the legislator and assaulted him, a situation they described as uncalled for.
The leadership of APC had now summoned both parties involved for a meeting on Thursday.
