Assembly Hopeful Fadahunsi greets Christians, Muslim for Season, Canvasses for CSO

As aspirant to represent Ido/Osi constituency One in the Ekiti house of Assembly under the flag of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Olawumi Fadahunsi has rejoiced with Christian  faithfuls with a call on them to reflect on the lessons of the season.

Fadahunsi who made the statement in his Easter message said that the essence of the trial, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was beyond merriments but a demonstration of true love for humanity.

He encouraged people not to depart from the good ways exhibited during the 40 days of spiritual exercise, which, he said, had drawn them closer to God with a lot of lessons.

The Assembly hopeful noted that Christians should always remember the lessons of love and sacrifice which were the hallmarks of the annual festival of Easter as well as the Commemoration of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

According to him “The Easter season should be seen as a period to learn how to be selfless tolerant, love and sacrifice for our fellow human beings as exemplifies by our Lord Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry, his death and his resurrection.” 

On the forthcoming June 18 Gubernatorial election in the state, Fadahunsi urged Ekiti people to keep faith with the Social Democratic Party saying that the party’s governoship standard bearer, Chief Segun Oni would deliver on his electioneering promises.

He stated that youths in the state have a key role to play in the process of finding new directions toward fixing the rots in the governance of the state.

He called for a block vote for the Social Democratic Party’s governoship candidate which he said would make it difficult for whosoever planning to rig. He also charged individuals who are concerned about the development of the state to embark on massive and aggressive house to house campaign for the emergence of Chief Oni.

“I want to urge you, especially the Youths in the state who have not collected their Permanent Voter’s Card to done so, and to also sensitise those who have not register to go ahead and follow the INEC instructions on getting their Permanent Voters Card, PVC. Your Voter’s Card is your voice and your right to choose a good leader .”

The house of Assembly hopeful also extended his greetings to the Muslims community in the state for witnessing the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fasting and urged them to be faithful during and after the period.

“I must congratulate all my Muslim brothers and sisters who are currently observing the Ramadan fast and I pray that Allah will give you strength to complete the fast and also to give you the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan”

He charged the Muslim communities to use this fasting period in seeking the face of God n order to rescue Nigeria from continuos economic, political and social crisis bedevilling the nation.
