An Australian based mechanical engineer and indigene of Isan Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Engineer Olaoluwa Dawodu, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his re election, describing the victory as a well deserved reward for purposeful leadership and people centred governance.
In a congratulatory message made available to journalists on Sunday, Dawodu said the overwhelming support received by the governor at the polls reflected the confidence of Ekiti people in his administration and the widespread acceptance of his development agenda across the state.
According to him, Governor Oyebanji’s victory was not only an electoral success but also a clear endorsement of his administration’s achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, workers’ welfare and inclusive governance.
The Australia based engineer and former aspirant for the House of Reps in Oye/Ikole federal Constituency commended the governor for sustaining a leadership style anchored on consultation, humility and equitable distribution of development projects, noting that the administration had succeeded in fostering peace, unity and political stability in Ekiti State.
He also praised the peaceful conduct of the governorship election, describing it as a demonstration of the political maturity of Ekiti people and the effectiveness of security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission in ensuring a credible electoral process.
Dawodu urged Governor Oyebanji to continue to see the renewed mandate as a call to greater service, encouraging him to consolidate on the achievements of his first term by accelerating ongoing projects, creating more employment opportunities for young people and strengthening programmes aimed at reducing poverty and improving the living standards of residents.
While congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress on the successful outcome of the election, he noted that the Ekiti election was result of the test of the new electoral act. He expressed confidence that the renewed partnership between the Federal Government and Ekiti State would attract more investment, infrastructure and economic opportunities to the state.
He also appealed to political actors across party lines to close ranks in the interest of the state’s development, stressing that the election was over and that the collective responsibility of all stakeholders should now be to support the governor in delivering greater dividends of democracy.
Dawodu reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the development of Ekiti State through knowledge transfer, mentorship and investment, particularly in engineering, technology and youth capacity development, saying the state’s progress requires the active participation of its citizens around the world
