As Ekiti State ushers in the New Year, a political movement, BAO Beyond 2026 (BB26) has extended warm greetings to residents, wishing them a prosperous 2025. In its New Year message, the group also congratulated Mr. Oyeniyi Adebayo, the newly appointed Chief of Staff to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
BB26, a group of progressive young minds advocating for effective governance in Ekiti State, called on Ekiti indigenes at home and abroad to rally behind Governor Oyebanji’s administration, commending the government for fixing round pegs in round holes and making use of the human resources of the state in achieving the shared prosperity agenda.
According to a statement signed by the Publicity secretary of the group Mr Gabriel Adesoji, the development strides recorded in the past two years has set the stage for further transformation, urging citizens to remain steadfast in their support for the governor.
The newly appointed Chief of Staff, Mr. Olaniyi Adebayo, hails from Usi-Ekiti and boasts a distinguished career in economic management and public administration. Since joining the Oyebanji administration in November 2022 as Special Adviser on Budget, Economic Planning, and Performance Management, he has made notable contributions. Elevated to the role of State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning in August 2023, Adebayo is set to assume his new duties as Chief of Staff on January 2, 2025.
BB26 also commended other recent appointees, including Hon. Femi Ajayi as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prince Wole Ajakaiye as Special Adviser, and Barrister Tajudeen Akingbolu as Director General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency. The group expressed confidence in their capacity to further the administration’s developmental agenda.
The group coordinator, Mr. Olalekan Ijidale, congratulated all other appointees and reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to supporting Governor Oyebanji. The group also urged Ekiti citizens to remain vigilant and discerning in the political season ahead, emphasizing the need to distinguish genuine leaders from opportunists.
