In a significant development for the governance structure of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI), the Congregation of the University, on Thursday, February 15, 2024 elected its representatives to two key decision- making bodies in line with extant provisions of the University law.
Mrs. Abosede Grace Oso, a Deputy Registrar in the Registry was elected to fill the Non-Teching representative of the Congregation on the Governing Council, a position which became vacant following the appointment of the former representative, Mrs. Adenike Adeusi as the new Registrar of the institution recently. In line with statute 5, paragraph 3(b) of the University law, the new representative, Mrs. Oso will now complete the tenure.
Similarly, the Congregation also elected the quartet of Dr. Cyril Abioye Olowoyeye, Dr. Joseph Ojo Ekiran, Dr. Collins Gboyèga Aribamikan and Dr. Moses Olusanya Ayoola to represent it on the Senate.
The Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Congregation, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa, who harped on the importance of the exercise, advised members of staff to always show keen interest in the affairs of the University. He stated that the accreditation exercise for 45 degree programmes would hold in March and no stone would be left unturned to scale the hurdle.
He urged members of staff to always come up with innovative ideas and proposals that would further portray the University as a citadel of excellence.
