The Governing Council of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti has ratified the promotion of three (3) Deputy Registrars, one (1) Deputy Bursar and equally approved the regrading of ten (10) Senior Lecturers as Associate Professors in line with extant regulations of the University.
The action which could be described as a decision that bore the halo of magisterial finality was taken at its statutory meeting held on Tuesday, July 18,2023.
A statement from the Office of the Registrar and made available to newsmen said the approval was a seal on the recommendations of the Appointments and Promotions Committee on the 2022 Annual Staff Performance Review Exercise.
According to the statement,the trio of Mr. Temitope Akinbisoye, Miss Chika Ejiakonye and Mrs. Oluwakemi Ayodeji were promoted to the post of Deputy Registrar while Mr. Clement Ologuntuyi was promoted to the post of Deputy Bursar with effect from October 1, 2022. The statement added that “following the consideration of the report and recommendations of the Appointments and Promotions Committee (Academics) on the internal and external assessment reports, and having satisfied the standard parameters stipulated by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Council equally approved the regrading of 10 Senior Lecturers as Associate Professors” The affected staff were

Dr. Micheal Olusola Ogunmola – (Design and Fine Arts).
The Governing Council also ratified the promotion of 281 senior members of staff which had earlier been effected by the Appointments and Promotions Committee (Admin & Technical), the incremental credits granted 545 members of staff as a result of their satisfactory performances while 9 members of staff had their appointments confirmed till retiring age.
Similarly, the Governing Council also reviewed the circumstances surrounding the wrongful disengagement of 5 high ranking officers of the institution from service for nine months in 2019 describing the treatment meted to them as unfair and unjust and consequently approved the condonation of the period of the disruption in service as part of their service period in the institution.
The affected officers are Mrs. B.S. Momoh, Mrs. F.A. Adeusi, Mr. J.O. Onifade, Mr. R.S. Omole (now deceased) and Mr. F.I. Adebayo (retired).
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Oladipo Aina reiterated the commitment of the Council to the continuous development of the University in all ramifications and assured members of staff of a career-friendly platform that guarantees job satisfaction and devoid of unnecessary inhibitions.
