Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Ekiti State Branch, holds 2023 AGM, Akindele Ariyo emerges ACIPM Chairman

  In line with the bye law the Chartered body, the Ekiti State Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management CIPM, held her 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 23rd April 2024 at the Data Bank, Ministry of Health and Human Services, Ado Ekiti.

The hybrid event had members attending physically onsite while some members outside the state and Nigeria joined virtually.

During the AGM, an astute Administrator, a fellow of the Institute; Dr Akinjide Akinleye, mni, FCIPM, presented a lecture on Advancement of Technology and Personnel Administration: Interrogating the nexus.

He elaborated on the ever evolving technology and charged members to be upgraded and updated on the current trends of adopting technology in Personnel Administration for service delivery as against the belief of robot taking over traditional jobs.

The outgoing General Secretary, Mr Segun Adebayo, ACIPM, presented the branch activities report for year 2023 showing the account of stewardship while the outgoing Financial Secretary; Mrs Adesola Adetayo ACIPM, presented the financial reports and a letter of compliance issued to the Branch from the CIPM headquarters after auditing the account which shows a proper financial management.

The Outgoing Chairman; Mrs Olusola Gbenga-Igotun, MCIPM (PS MoH&HS), acknowledged and appreciated the support received from members during her tenure.

She thanked members for their commitment and appreciated the efforts of the CIPM headquarters in improving the institute. Thereafter, she called for the desolution of the executive members

The climax of the event was the election of new executive members that will pilot affairs of the one year. The Electoral Officer, Mr Sola Ogunmiluyi, MCIPM, a retired Permanent Secretary in Ekiti State Civil Service, following the CIPM guidelines, conducted an indisputable election wherein the following emerged:

2 Mr. Emiloju Joshua Gbenga, ACIPM as Vice Chairman

3 Mrs Adesola Adetayo, ACIPM, as General Secretary

4 Dr. Olumide Gbenga Dada, ACIPM as Asst General Secretary/PRO

5 Mr Olusola Ogunlade ACIPM, as Financial Secretary

6 Mr Segun Adebayo, ACIPM, Ex Officio

7 Dr Mrs Oyeyemi Kayode-Ojo MCIPM as Ex-officio

8 Mrs Olusola Gbenga-Igotun MCIPM as IPC

The post of Treasurer remains vacant to be filled after a bye election.

In the acceptance speech of the newly elected Chairman, Ariyo thanked members for the confidence reposed on him and promised to build of the successes recorded by the immediate past executives. He noted that his administration will prioritize the upgrading of members and capacity development amongst other innovations that will improve the institute.
