Christ’s School 1997/2003 Alumni hold Reunion After 2 decades, Inspire Current Students to Success

For the 1997/2003 set of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, October 27, 28 & 29 year 2023 will remain unforgettable days.

Old students of the set, now successful men and women spread across different states in Nigeria, and the diaspora had converged for a special reunion to mark 20 years of graduation.

The 20th post-graduation anniversary celebration, tagged, Two Decades and Counting ; Unity is strength, kick-started with a career-talk for male and female students in the senior secondary category of the school.

The career talk, with the theme, “the path to my destination, held at the girls’ section of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, and was attended by the principal, Christ’s School Ado (Girls’ section), Dr. (Mrs.) V. Ale.

After the career talk came the special bonding moments of the 97/2003 set through games, such as; thug of war, Chess, and the local ayo olopon, among others.

Activities lined up for the first day of reunion, climaxed with a novelty match between the 97/03 set and Christ’s School football team. The match ended 3 goals to 2, in favour of the old students.

For the set’s General Secretary, Dr. Temitope Adawa, the 20th postgraduation ceremony was necessitated by the need to reunite with old friends, build stronger networks and give back to Christ’s School, while inspiring current Staff and Students of the Alma Mata.

The Dinner Party of the set held at one of the popular hotels in ado-ekiti, on day 2 of the commemorative post-graduation ceremony no doubt afforded members the opportunity to wine, dine and reminisce on the good old days at christ’s school ado-ekiti, just as it afforded physical and virtual participants the opportunity to observe a moment of silence in honour of set memebers that are no more.

The set’s vice-chairman, Mrs. Morolake Fakayode who expressed delight that Christ’s school did produce a grateful 97/2003 set, noted that whatever one gives out willingly would return to the individual.

Speaking at the chapel of living hope, Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti during the set’s postgraduation thanksgiving held on Sunday 29th October, the chaplain, girls’ section, Revd. Alaba Kolawole noted that God deserves the praise of all living beings on earth.

In his sermon titled, “the faithfulness of God”, the cleric urged congregants to surrender their whole being to God, and imbibe the habit of giving thanks to Him at all times, irrespective of challenges.

On his part, the set’s chairman, Engr. Victor Adebayo described the 20th postgraduation reunion as unique and significant.

In an interview, the Principal, Boys’ section, Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti, Venerable Oluwarotimi Oso appreciated the 1997/2003 set, not only for fixing a befitting gate at the Girls’ section of the school, but also for providing solar electrification at the new lecture theatre in the boys’ section
