The founder of a Non Governmental Organization, Christ the Healing Stream Initiave CHSI Lady Evangelist Oyenike Daramola has called on Ministers of God not to confine the gospel of Jesus Christ only to the altar but to people who are regarded as rejected and condemned.

Evangelist Daramola in the company of other Annointed men said this at the Early year celebration with the inmates in the Correctional centre in Ado Ekiti where she presented a complete set drums for use at the Mercy Chapel of the correctional center.

She noted that the twenty years ministry which started in Lagos has since been winning souls for Christ and provision of financial, moral and spiritual supports for the inmates in Nigeria.

In her words ” God has used CHSI to get a generator set for the inmates. We have provided study materials for those preparing to write WAEC, we collaborate with the National Directorate of Employment to train and empowering four inmates who have now been released for them to be self reliant while they reconnect with their families.

Thank God it is no longer prison, it is a correctional centre where we need to rehabilitate these people. Truly, they might have done wrongs, but we need not neglect them. God does not want the death of a sinner but his genuine repentance.

There are works for Ministers of God to do here. We cannot finish the work of winning souls for Christ. We have the cases of genuine born again among them now. It important to beg our governments to expedite actions on decongesting the population of the inmates here in Ekiti.

Ideally, this centre is supposed to house 324 inmates but we have about 640 remanded here. There is also the need for swift and prompt judgement delivery. All these we make things work better”

Mrs Daramola called on other NGOs in the country to extend the work of humanity to the Nigerian Correctional centers while urging Governments to improve the welfares of the inmates.

Speaking on the Theme ” Is your name in God’s book? The husband of the CHSI founder Dr Alaba Daramola noted that there are physical and spiritual jails. He emphasized the need for the people serving their terms to seek the face of God whose hands lie the heart of Kings. He noted that many of the physical happenings are controlled by the spiritual activities, hence the need for inmates to repent, seek God the more and pray, rather than losing hope or believing in Man.

Also at the occasion were other Annointed men of God and Gospel Artiste from Ekiti, Ondo, Kwara and Kogi States including Prophet Gegeoju Joseph from Ikotun Ile Kwara state, Venerable Oluwemimo, Pastor Olajuyin, and Lady Evangelist Esusise and the Permanent Secretary Ekiti State Ministry of Local Government Affairs Mr Komolafe  among others who lauded the initiative while they prayed for more powers for the CHSI.

They called on people engaging in outreach to also consider correctional centres as a place to visit so as to contribute meaningfully to humanity.

The comptroller Nigeria Correctional Centre, Ekiti Custodian Centre, Mr Joseph Ojo who received the donated materials thanked the CHIS for their continuos support. He said that many of the inmates have changed in their manners since 2018 when the CHIS has been visiting the centre for its monthly outreach. He lauded the underground efforts of Lady Evangelist Oyenike Daramola and her husband Dr Alaba Daramola towards the actualization of the Non Custodian Unit in Ekiti State as a way to keep people with minor cases separated in order to decongest the Centre.

The inmates numbering about 640 were fed as they expressed gladness and appreciate the CHIS for always showing concerns at their welfares.
