The Ekiti State House of Assembly speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has called on Christian faithful across the state to internalise and exhibit the lessons of service and sacrifice as they celebrate the Easter season.
Aribasoye in a press statement to rejoice with Christians in commemoration of the season pointed out that the bold and ultimate sacrificial and redemptive action taken by Jesus Christ, in dying for the sins of mankind, teaches mortals to be their brother’s keeper, live a sinless life and imbibe the attitude of peace, forgiving and giving.
He said “Christ gave his life for us, this should readily tell us that we should be able to give sacrificially for the sake of others, protect the interest of our neighbours, grow above vendetta and violence while living our lives to please the one who made the ultimate sacrifice ”
The speaker asked Christians to also draw a lesson of service to humanity from the life and death of Christ calling on Ekiti indigenes to put in reasonable service into the Ekiti project and always pray for those given the grace by God to lead the state in various capacities.
“The Governor and his deputy, his executive team and we lawmakers are only privileged to be leading and representing Ekiti kete in different capacities today. It is grace for service. However, Service should not be limited to exalted offices alone, leaders and those being led all have services to render. Jesus served mankind and we too must serve humanity.” Aribasoye advised.
He urged Ekiti people to maintain faith in God and trust in the governor Biodun Oyebanji administration , saying the governor and the state legislature remain patriotically committed to offering services that would produce joy and development in the state.
