Easter  Outreach: Shopping With God, Inner wheel Club of Ado Ekiti Roses, Reaches Out to the Needy

A Non Governmental Organization, Inner wheel Club of Ado Ekiti Roses has chosen to emulate the virtues of Christ by donating to 40 people in need during the Easter Monday celebration.

The President of the Group, Mrs Temitope Sola SHITTU said that the Easter outreach programme tagged “Shopping with God.” was aimed to bring joy and relief to individuals and families in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and kindness that defines the Easter celebration.

She informed that the “Shopping with God” Initiative” was designed to provide beneficiaries with an opportunity to be gifted essential items, including food, clothing, and other necessities, donated by members of the organization in fulfillment of the biblical injunction and God’s commandments to love and care for one another.

While reeling out the achievements of the club, Mrs Sola- SHITTU explained that the Easter Outreach was not just a mere social gathering but a time to share what the group has with the people as exemplified by the teachings of Easter.

“With God’s help and burning passion to support the less privileged in our society, the club has been able to bring smiles to many faces through various empowerment Programmes from 2024 to date, such as provision of a wheelchair, purchase of a laptop and sewing machine and provision of charcoal and learning Materials.

“Others are payments of one year’s school fees for two orphans, distribution of diapers and other essentials items for mothers and babies.” She concluded.

Mrs Sola-SHITTU said that empowerment of survivor of sexual abuse, Presentation of Awards and gifts to deserving members of the inner wheel Club of Ado Ekiti Roses as well Sensitization and empowerment of 50 female Students from selected higher Institutions in the State were some of the Programmes to be implemented by the club.

The first Speakers at the event, Pastor Mrs.Titilayo Olaofe who spoke on the Purpose and benefits of giving, emphasized the importance of giving our best to God, drawing inspiration from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

” You don’t have to be rich before you help others, it is more blessed to give than to receive” .

She advised that as they received they should endeavour to give others too. She encouraged believers to reflect on their relationship with God and strive to honor Him whether through worship, service, or daily life, adding that giving was commanded by God quoting Luke 6:38.

Mrs Pastor Olaofe said it was rewarding to give citing the examples of the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17:8-24, and the Shunammite woman too as recorded 11Kings 4:8-37

She urged members of the inner wheel Club of Ado Ekiti Roses not to relent but keep giving to the needy in the society describing the gesture as Jesus’ Ministry

She concluded by admonishing the gathering to give, saying that giving is the best way to receive from God instead of spending their time on Mountains.

The second Speaker Mrs Funmilayo Adeyemo spoke on “The Strength of an independent woman” and advised women to Embrace Independence and take charge of their lives and as well cultivate the strength needed to thrive in today’s world.

She harped on the need to focus on the importance of self-reliance, and inner fortitude for women to take ownership of their lives.

”make informed decisions, and build your Inner Strength to develop your emotional intelligence, resilience, and confidence which are essential for navigating life’s challenges and overcome societal expectations, stereotypes, and personal

limitations to achieve personal growth and success”. she remarked.

She emphasized the need to equip women with the tools and mindset necessary to thrive in all aspects of life.

There were goodwill messages from some members of the NGO.

Food items, clothing, and other necessities, were distributed to 40 beneficiaries at the event.

The beneficiaries of the day appreciated the club for their kind gesture in reaching to such number of people with the current status of the economy of Nigeria and encouraged other NGOS in the state to emulate the spirit of giving to humanity in the society.

They also pray for the growth, success and achievement of Inner Wheel Club of Ado Roses. The program of the day experience series of funfair, activities, dine and wine to celebrate the birth of our lord Jesus Christ
