Ekiti State House of Assembly has initiated moves to regulate the activities of car and spare dealers in the state.
This follows the committal of a bill on motor vehicle and motor vehicle spare part dealers bill 2022 to the house committee on works and Transport at the plenary in Ado Ekiti.
The speaker, Mr Funminiyi Afuye who committed the bill after a voice vote directed the committee to work in synergy with the committee on trade, industry and investment.
The bill was sponsored by the leader of government business in the house and the lawmaker representing Ikole constituency one, Mr Gboyega Aribisogan.
Speaking to the bill, Aribisogan said it will enable Ekiti have a data base of the car and spare part dealers, as they will have to register with Government and will checkmate the sharp practices of some dealers in the state.
