The Ekiti State House of Assembly is set to resume the screening of the remaining Seven (7) Commissioner-nominees on Tuesday 18th July, 2023.
According to the statement made available in Ado Ekiti, the Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Babatunde Oke, Member representing Ikere Constituency I, stated that the screening of the Twenty-One (21) Commissioner-nominees forwarded to the House by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for screening and possible confirmation will be continued on Tuesday 18th July, 2023 in line with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
It would be recalled that the House had at its plenary sitting of Thursday 6th July 2023 adjourned sine die thereby puting on hold the screening of Twenty-One (21) Commissioner-nominees it commenced on Monday 3rd July, 2023.
So far, while Forteen (14) Commissioner-nominees had been screened and currently awaiting confirmation by the House, screening of the remaining Seven (7) Commissioner-nominees will follow on Tuesday 18th July 2023 in the hallowed chamber at 10am.
The Chairman further said that concerned Commissioner-nominees should ensure compliance with the guiding principles earlier communicated to them through the Clerk of the House Mr. Tola Esan as they appear before the House.
