Ekiti Concerned Citizen Temitope Olawande Wants Gov Oyebanji Explain Issues surrounding Palliative Fund

A concerned citizen of Ekiti State Temitope Olawande Esq has requested the Ekiti state Governor Mr Biodun Oyebanji to clear the air concerning issues arising from the 5 billion Naira Palliative fund given to the state by the federal government.

Mr Olawande who wrote and open letter to the state helmsman explained that many of the citizens in the state are lost in the various rumor and unfounded claims from different quarters regarding the fund,which the Governor must quickly address without any further delay.

According to him, there are different unfounded claims and stories in the street as well as social media groups alleging that the fund has been collected and shared amidst certain people which the government must quickly respond to before such stories find their roots in the hearts of the citizens.

“Mr Governor Sir, as a responsible and accountable leader, it is very essential that you provide the citizens with information regarding the palliative fund so as to straighten the record and correct the information and allegation making round in the public space which is capable of de-marketing your government.

“Stories making around remains that the palliative fund has been collected and it is been shared among leaders and members of the APC, this is the money meant for the whole of Ekiti people and not just a political party. We trust that your government will not do anything that would be detrimental to the wellbeing of the state”

We want to know the significant amount received and how it has been spent or how it will be disbursed to clear the deep apprehension in the minds of the apolitical citizens in the state because the palliative fund was meant to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable members of our society.

The current situation of our dear citizens and the impacts of the inflation ravaging the country is affecting livelihood severely and the hope of the people hope rest in the belief that your administration is responsible.

Your Excellency sir, please, take immediate steps to address these concerns and restore the faith and confidence of the citizens in the government’s ability to provide for their welfare. We know that the widespread concerns and allegations of mismanagement and misappropriation of these funds may be the work of the spin doctors but please address us and let us hear from the Horse’s mouth.

Sir, in your explanation give a breakdown of the amount spent on food supplies and other essential items for distribution to the vulnerable population, the criteria used to identify and select beneficiaries, ensuring that the funds reach those who are most in need and the mechanisms in place to prevent corruption and ensure transparency throughout the distribution process.

Also sir, the steps taken to address any reported cases of mismanagement or misappropriation of the palliative funds, the plans for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the palliative measures implemented should also be made known to the public to set the record straight.

By providing a comprehensive and detailed explanation of the utilization of the 5 billion naira palliative fund, you will not only address the concerns of the citizens but also demonstrate your commitment to their well-being and the various efforts your administration is making to put smiles and happiness in the face and minds of the people respectively.

As I write on behalf of other citizens and political onlookers in the state, I wish to state that we await your prompt response to foster and boost the trust and confidence that we and the people have in your leadership. Let the explanation be in the news and make it well publicized within the next fourteen days sir.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I remain hopeful that you will take immediate action to address our concerns and provide the necessary details.
