The Ekiti State Government has commenced the 2024/2025 promotion exercise for eligible civil servants, marking another decisive step in its drive to strengthen the state’s workforce and improve service delivery across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Ministerial interviews for qualified officers began in November 2025, cutting across various MDAs. Building on that process, the Senior Management Committee (SMC) will from Wednesday, December 11 to Wednesday, December 18, 2025, conduct promotion interviews for 764 senior officers on Grade Level 13 and above.
In a parallel phase, the Ekiti State Civil Service Commission will begin promotion interviews for officers across all cadres on December 16, 2025. This follows extensive screening and verification exercises conducted by MDAs, which included appraisal reviews, documentation checks and the submission of ministerial briefings to the Commission.
The ongoing promotion exercise reflects earlier commitments made by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji during the 2025 Workers’ Day Celebration at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti. At the event, he commended the resilience and patriotism of the state’s workforce, describing civil servants as central to Ekiti’s development trajectory and essential to sustaining effective governance.
Governor Oyebanji reiterated his administration’s pledge to uphold workers’ rights, ensure a secure and supportive work environment, and provide fair remuneration. He noted that strengthening the civil service remains a priority, as it is the engine that drives policy implementation and socio-economic progress in the state.
The Governor had earlier approved the immediate commencement of the 2024 and 2025 promotion exercises, assuring that all successful officers will receive their promotion letters without delay.
