Ekiti Monarchs Endorse Adedayo Oluwasanmi for Leadership, Hail His Community Development Efforts
Traditional rulers in Ekiti East and Aiyekire local Government Areas, the Olomuo, Oba Noah Omonigbeyin and Olode of Ode Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adara Aderiye have described Pharmacist Adedayo Oluwasanmi, as a fit and proper person for political leadership and representation, lauding his various empowerment initiatives and community development services.
Speaking separately in their palaces, during the quarterly empowerment programmes for 800 people in Gbonyin, Aiyekire, Emure, and Ekiti East, the monarchs commended Oluwasanmi for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people over the years, despite his non-political involvement, expressing confidence that his entry into partisan politics would further enhance his ability to contribute to the development of the state.
The Olomuo of Omuo-Ekiti, Oba Noah Omonigbeyin, who acknowledged Oluwasanmi’s selfless service and dedication to humanity, noted that his numerous philanthropic gestures had touched countless lives in the state. He remarked that such an individual, if given the opportunity to serve in a political capacity, would bring about meaningful progress.
“Pharmacist Adedayo Oluwasanmi has demonstrated a rare passion for community development and humanitarian service. For over a decade, he has been actively supporting various initiatives in education, healthcare, and agriculture, and his impact is widely felt across Ekiti. Leadership should be entrusted to people like him,” Oba Omonigbeyin stated.
Similarly, the Olode of Ode-Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adara Aderiye, acknowledged Oluwasanmi’s longstanding commitment to the upliftment of the people, emphasizing that he had consistently contributed to the development of the community without holding any political office.
The monarch described Oluwasanmi’s decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a step in the right direction, adding that it would provide him with a stronger platform to execute more people-oriented programs.
“For years, Oluwasanmi has been committed to bettering the lives of our people without seeking political gains. Now that he has joined the APC, I am confident that he will have greater opportunities to expand his philanthropic activities and champion policies that will bring development to our communities,” Oba Aderiye said.
The traditional rulers highlighted various empowerment programs spearheaded by Oluwasanmi, particularly in the areas of education, skill acquisition, and healthcare. They recalled how his foundation, the Adedayo Oluwasanmi Foundation (AOF), had sponsored scholarships for students, provided medical outreach programs, and supported small-scale businesses across the region.
They noted that his contributions to the agricultural sector had also been remarkable, as he had consistently supported farmers with resources and training to enhance food production and economic stability in the area.
According to the monarchs, Oluwasanmi’s philanthropic efforts align with the legacy of his forefathers, who were known for their integrity, educational excellence, and service to humanity. They urged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to the people and continue the noble path of his lineage, stating that Oluwasanmi’s foray into politics signified hope for grassroots development in Ekiti.
They urged privileged people and political office holders to take a cue from the selfless service of the philanthropist.
“Oluwasanmi is not just a politician; he is a man of the people. We are confident that his presence in the political space will lead to policies and programs that directly benefit the people,” Said Oba Aderiye.
They also prayed for his continued success, emphasizing that leadership positions should be entrusted to individuals with a track record of service and compassion for the people.
“In our culture, we value leaders who genuinely care for the welfare of their people. Oluwasanmi has demonstrated this over the years. If given the opportunity to serve in a political capacity, he will bring remarkable progress to our communities,” one of the rulers remarked.
Hailing Oluwasanmi as a role model who had consistently invested in the future of young people through educational support and skill development programs, they described him as a bridge-builder with the capacity to unite people and drive progress stressing that his reputation for honesty and service had endeared him to both the young and the elderly.
“We need leaders who understand our struggles and are willing to invest in the next generation. Oluwasanmi has been doing this for years, and now that he is in politics, we believe he will use his position to push for more development”. Said the Monarch.
Responding, Pharmacist Oluwasanmi who thanked the monarchs for their acknowledgement assured them that he would continue to represent the interests of the people, advocate their rights and rendering assistance to the less privileged.
