Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command today celebrated and appreciated retiring officers for the Year 2023 from the Command who have served the nation in their various capacities while in active service on the payroll of Federal government of Nigeria.
The celebration which get-together took place at the Command’s Headquarters along Ado/Ikere road Ekiti State witnessed a large turnout from the families of the veterans as well as Officers and Men of the State Command who besieged the Multipurpose hall to witness and grace the occasion as the ceremony was a maiden edition in the history of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command.
The veterans, Mrs Abiola Oke Folasade, Assistant Commandant Aiyebidun Felix, Chief Superintendent of Corps Oyeniyi Rotimi, Chief Superintendent of Corps Usikalu Thomas, Deputy Superintendent of Corps Osasusi Israel, Assistant Superintendent Corps I Aladesanmi , Chief Corps Assistant Akintade Lawrence, Chief Corps Assistant Aletile and Chief Corps Assistant Jacob Asake were honoured at the commendation and retirement party organized by the entire officers and men of the Ekiti command to appreciate their unflinching supports and innumerable contributions to the development of the Corps as well as their services to the nation in their various point of duties while serving their father’s land.
Speaking at the occasion, the Commandant General of the Corps Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR represented by the State Commandant, John O Fayemi, thanked the retiring officers for their contribution, patriotism and bravery exhibited by them while in service. The Commandant General urged them to continue supporting the Corps to make sure that the common property of Nigerians are secured and protected especially from vandals and other miscreants in their various towns, cities and villages so that what the Corps stands for would be felt in the nooks and crannies of the country.
Speaking further, the State Commadant urged the Civil Defence veterans not to forget the Service by rendering unofficial assistance to the Corps in the area of intelligence gathering, protections of critical national asset and infrastructure as well as educating their people on the need to maintain a balance ecosystem, and prevention of crimes so that the society can benefit from their wealth of experience.
The Head of Welfare Department, Deputy Commandant Osungbure Moses who led the organising Committee of the occasion thanked the Commandant General in his opening speech for his effort geared towards the welfare of the entire population of the Corps while noting that the veterans have done well and urged them not to forget the service as they can be called upon to support the Corps in the future.
DCC Osungbure congratulated them and wished them happy retirement with a call to them to familiarize themselves with their new environment so that they can be known and valued anywhere they are in their places of abode.
Highlights of the occasion were gifts presentation by the State Command to all the retiring officers, while numerous parting gifts and sourvenirs were given to the veterans by Officers and Men of Ekiti State Command as well as various Departments of the retiring officers.
