The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ekiti State Command today, 13th December, 2023 held it’s annual Christmas Carol and Thanksgiving Service at the Command headquarters along Ikere road, Ekiti State.
The Siamese service which was organized by the command chaplaincy and the Amazing Grace Chapel to mark the year 2023 Christmas and to appreciate God for His faithfulness towards officers and men of the Command in the year running to an end.
The Command choir who were beautifully dressed rendered Christmas and praise songs to welcome the birth of Jesus Christ as the reason for the season and to thank Him for His supplies, protections and promotions in the year 2023 and for the coming years.
Other sister agencies were present at the carol service which had in attendance the Deputy Commandant CNAI DCC Olabide Akusebo who represented the State Commandant, Mr John Olatunde Fayemi who was on official assignment.Management staff, the Chief Imam of the command, officers and men and other invited guests were delighted as choristers from Nigeria Police spiced up the ceremony with special numbers to the admiration of everyone .
Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria Dr Aribasoye who led other ministers of God during the service spoke about the need to cultivate the habit of praising God. The CAN chairman who did not hide his joy praised the State Commandant for his love, kindness and steadfastness which he adjudged as the propelling factor that has been assisting the Command with a call to all officers and men of the Command to serve God and humanity so that the trust built on the Corps can be sustained by the people.
The representative of the State Commandant DCC Akusebo who has just been elevated to the rank of Commandant of Corps, thanked the Commandant General Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni OFR for his magnanimity, benevolence and emphaty. He noted the Commandant General has been living up to expectations since he assumed office and urged Civil Defenders nationwide to continue supporting the Commandant General as well as the Minister of Interior so that the tempo of work in the Corps can move on as expected by our employers.
The Command’s Chaplain ASCI Ajibuwa Ayokunle thanked God for his love and kindness over the Command and used the opportunity to remember officers that have paid the supreme price within the year. He prayed that God will grant the families and Corps the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
In the same vein, Bishop Clement Olu Abifade also prayed for the Corps, the Minister of Interior and the Commandant General and spoke deliverance into Nigeria’s economy system to accommodated speedy development and growth in year 2024 so that the groans and pains of Nigeria can be ameliorated.
