The Ekiti State Teaching Service Commission, TESCOM says the commission has not demanded the voter’s card of any teacher in the service of the commission.
Reacting to a publication that said the teachers in the state were mandated to submit their voter cards through the commission, the TESCOM Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Abegunde in Ado-Ekiti said that the publication is fraught with falsehood and one of the hatchet man’s job.
Abegunde said that besides that the write up is a deliberate falsehood, TESCOM had no reason to ask for Teacher’s voter’s card.
The TESCOM Boss reiterated that at no time was voter’s card relevant to the Commission because the only means of identifying teachers was government ID Card which did not require submission to anyone in the commission.
He emphasized that the Commission was not surprised by the writer’s story since he was paid for the job and must surely deliver on this mandate.
Mr Abegunde added that the Commission knew the antecedent of the writer when he was Press Secretary to a former Governor in Ekiti State and urged the public to disregard it and consign to the dustbin.
