Ekiti State will soon become the technological hub of Nigeria now that the government is collaborating with the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority NEPZA to create wealth through intellectual resources.
The State Governor Mr Biodun Oyebanji hosted the delegation from National office of NEPZA led by their Managing Director Prof Adesoji Adesugba at the Governor’s office Ado Ekiti to deliberate on the processing of declaring the state a Free Trade Zone.

The meeting was a follow up of the Governor’s visit to the various Federal Ministries and Agencies including NEPZA headquarters Abuja in November last year
Governor Oyebanji who explained that his government was focusing on building economic foundations for the people for people’s business said it was high time the state maximized the promises of Digitization to drive shared prosperity.
According to him, the government would provide every necessary support to actualize the free trade zone which will develop various sectors including education, trade, commerce health among others.
The NEPZA MD Prof Adesoji Adesugba said the team will soon get a presidential declaration for the project assuring that the state will begin to benefit from the project in the next 18 months.
He lauded the state government efforts at changing the economic narratives of the state.
