The Ekiti State Government has announced a rescheduled date for the International Women’s Day celebration, initially postponed from Friday, 8th March 2024. The event will now take place on Friday, 15th March 2024, as disclosed by the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Peju Babafemi in Ado Ekiti.
The celebration, organized by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in conjunction with the Office of the First Lady, Her Excellency, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, will witness the participation of representatives from women across the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Authorities (LCDAs). The event is scheduled to be held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, New Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti, commencing at 9:00 am.
This year’s theme for the International Women’s Day celebration is ‘Count Her in Accelerating Gender Equality Through Economic Empowerment’. Commissioner Babafemi urged all stakeholders to take note of the revised date and ensure prompt attendance at the ceremony.
