A House of Representatives aspirant, from Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 Engr. (Dr) Ayo Omotoso, has explained the reasons behind his decision to step down from the race, stating that his withdrawal was in total obedience to the directive of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Engr. Dr. Omotoso while addressing journalist in Ado Ekiti emphasized that party supremacy remains a vital pillar of democratic growth and political stability, stressing that no personal ambition should override the collective interest of the party.
The aspirant noted that while he had widespread support across the constituency and remained confident of victory, he decided to respect the position of the party leadership in order to preserve unity and strengthen internal harmony within the APC.
According to him, political maturity requires leaders and aspirants to place loyalty, discipline and obedience above personal gains, especially at a critical time when the party must remain focused and united ahead of future elections.
Engr. Dr. Omotoso stated that his decision was not borne out of weakness or lack of political relevance, but rather from his conviction that respecting party decisions would ultimately promote peace, stability and progress within the fold of the APC.
He further stressed that party supremacy should always take precedence in any democratic setting, adding that strong political institutions can only thrive where members are willing to submit to lawful directives and internal resolutions.
The politician urged his supporters and political associates not to see his withdrawal as a setback, but as a sacrifice made in the overall interest of the party and the development of the constituency.
He called on party faithful to close ranks and support the candidate endorsed by the APC, insisting that collective victory remains more important than individual ambition.
Engr. Omotoso also appreciated party leaders and supporters for their encouragement, consultations and prayers throughout the period of his aspiration, promising to continue contributing meaningfully to the growth and success of the party.
He maintained that his loyalty to the APC remains unwavering, assuring stakeholders that he would continue to work tirelessly for the progress of the party and the advancement of democratic values within the constituency.
