… Lauds Leadership effort towards community Development
In continuation of their moves towards developing their alma mater, members of Ado Grammar School Alumni, 2005 Set, led by the President Mr Olabode Wilson-Rawa, on Tuesday, have taken their plans for the proposed ultra-modern hall to the palace of the Ewi Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe in Ado Ekiti.
The delegation which sought the support of the monarch in preparation for the foundation laying of the new edifice expressed gratitude for traditional ruler’s tenure which the said had brought fortunes and good tidings to the Ado Ekiti Metropolis.
Mr Rawa who emphasized the impact of the Ewi’s leadership on the community, particularly in advocating for the creation of Ekiti State, noted that many prominent figures from Ado Ekiti have contributed to good governance and development of the state.
Mr Rawa asserted that the alumni’s project which is to build a modern hall at Ado Grammar School, a key institution in the town, aligns perfectly with the Ewi’s legacy of strengthening educational and communal growth.
The alumni president explained that their initiative is modeled after successful alumni projects within the school. He highlighted the school’s approval of the land for the construction and detailed the hall’s planned benefits: a venue for exams, devotions, graduations, and other school activities. Additionally, the hall could be rented out for events, generating revenue for the school’s ongoing projects.
Recognizing the substantial financial requirements of the project,the alumni appealed for the Ewi’s support and networking to help meet the alumni’s budgetary needs.
The Ewi’s involvement, he noted, would be a pivotal endorsement.
In response, Oba Rufus Adejugbe commended the alumni’s dedication and progress. He praised their vision for being a part of the school’s transformation and stressed the importance of community involvement in such initiatives.
Oba Adejugbe graciously requested that the alumni formally invite him to the foundation laying ceremony, promising his royal presence as a gesture of encouragement and support for the project. He reaffirmed that the development of the community extends beyond government efforts and requires collective responsibility.
Concluding the meeting, Oba Adejugbe imparted his royal blessings upon the alumni’s project, expressing optimism for its successful completion. As a token of their appreciation, President of the Alumni,Olabode presented the Ewi with a portrait from the recent Udi Roko festival, which the monarch received warmly.
Under Mr.Olabode Wilson’s leadership, the 2005 Set of Ado Grammar School Alumni has already initiated several impactful projects, including establishing a cooperative society, reviving the Adire Hub in the school on-going, providing free JAMB forms to underprivileged students, and assisting students in gaining admission to higher institutions.
The proposed hall marks another step in their ongoing commitment to the school’s and community’s betterment.
