Get involved in politics, unite to get your goals – Adelugba, others charge Ekiti Women

A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon.Olubunmi Adelugba has challenged women to fight for their right in the society especially in politics.

While addressing women at her Emure constituency in Ekiti state, the legislator described women as inevitable tools in politics, hence the need for them to show genuine zeal to earn what rightfully belong to them.

Hon. Adelugba noted that unity of purpose, understanding and pragmatic efforts were needed by women to excel in politics and other spheres of life.

She recalled that some key stakeholders like Erelu Bisi Fayemi had been the shinning light for others to emulate in the political ecosystem adding that the tenacity and vigour exhibited by the wife of the Ekiti state governor were second to none, hence every woman should strive to move high in politics through legitimate and lawful means.

Hon. Adelugba who is also the chairman Ekiti State House of Assembly committee on Budget and Appropriation informed that the present government in Ekiti state had encouraged, engaged and empowered more women through various means with a view to preparing them for future challenge as politicians.

Other speakers at the occasion were the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Alhaja Mariam Ogunlade who thanked APC Women for their commitment towards strengthening the women folk in the party

Alhaja Ogunlade corroborated some of the submissions of Hon. Adelugba on the need for women to do the needful to attain the desired heights politically and shun gossiping, backbiting and rumour mongering.

In her submission, the Senatorial Women Leader (APC) Hon. Abiodun Adesina urged both Hon. Adelugba and Alhaja Ogunlade to join forces to reposition Emure constituency and make more women from their more politically relevant.

Similarly, the chairman, Ekiti state Sports Council who is also proudly from Emure constituency, Hon. Olusola Osetoba saluted the governors’ wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for helping other women to grow in politics stressing that Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba has also been a worthy women advocate.

She urged women in Ekiti state to key into the purposeful leadership of APC Women Leaders for them to reap the fruit of democracy and their commitment towards the sustenance of the APC administration in Ekiti state beyond 2022.

Also in attendance were the immediate past Supervisory Councillor in the state, Hon. Bola Adefemi and all councillors from the constituency.

The convener of the Women Forum, Hon.Adelugba distributed gifts such as ankara fabrics, food stuff and other gift items while some went home with cash gifts.
