Oyebanji Enlists 622,000 Persons under Free Health Scheme, 1,000 Surgeries Conducted in Two Years, Say EKHIS Boss, Dr Charles Doherty, Commends Oyebanji for Prioritizing Vulnerable Citizens

The General Manager Ekiti State Health Insurance Scheme, Dr Charles Olusegun Doherty has applauded the commitment of the Ekiti State Governor Mr Biodun Oyebanji towards actualizing free quality Health care service for all the citizens in the state.

Speaking at a forum in Ado Ekiti, the EKHIS boss who  explained that the state government had mandated free medical service for some vulnerable groups noted that there has been rapid increase in the capturing of people enlisted under free medical service in the state.

Doherty who emphasize that, just within three years of Oyebanji’s administration, the state had enlisted over six hundred thousand beneficiaries of free health care service under the Ulera wa free health service from the previous ten thousand beneficiaries as of 2022.

According to him, the number of beneficiaries have increased to six hundred and twenty two thousand within which people living with disabilities, sickle cell wariiors , pensioners among other persons are enrolled.

He revealed that over 1000 Free surgery and medical operations  ranging from caesarian session.

Doherty explained that the vision of the current administration of Oyebanji in the health sector has been seriously supported by the state commissioner for Health, Dr Oyebanji Filani and the state House of Aseembly.

The EKHIS boss particularly pointed at the leadership of the House committee on Helath under the chairmanship of Mrs Abimbola Solanke, whom he said had givLauded the composition of the Aseembly, dn herself to ensuring good policies for quality , affordable and accessible health care across the state.

Describing the memebers of the assembly as comprising  men and women of high commitment and sacrifice, Doherty noted that the cordial relationship between the various arms of government in the state has really been influential on the success of the government.
