The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji says he would continue to imbibe the the virtues of Omoluabi that Ekiti state is known for, being one of the legacies shown him by his father, Pa Ezekiel Oyebanji.
The Governor said this
during a thanksgiving service marking the 90th birthday celebration of his father at the First Baptist Church, Ikogosi Ekiti.
The Governor who described his father, a retired school principal as a man of great value, honesty, integrity, humility, hardwork and self -discipline, noted that his father’s legacies helped in shaping his life
Governor Oyebanji explained that his simplicity and humble and modest approach to life was a major virtue inculcated in him and his siblings by Pa Ezekiel Oyebanji .
The Governor said: “I would have loved to make the birthday elaborate, but I have to make it a low key for the fact that Ekiti people are currently my employer, so I have to behave responsibly. I have to be cautious and circumspect in whatever I do.
” If I wasn’t a governor, I would have celebrated him more than this. We deliberately did not send out invitation card to anyone so that Baba can have a modest celebration with his friends and family members. But somehow people heard and turned up to honour our father”.

The celebrant, Pa Oyebanji, Who said he belief strongly in education as a weapon to overcoming poverty charged parents to invest hugely in their children for a brighter future.

Adeoye Aribasoye, House of Representatives members, Hons. Biodun Omoleye and Akinlayo Kolawole, former Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola.
