The people of Ifaki Ekiti under the aegis of Ifaki Progressive Union (IPU) has written a letter of appreciation to the Senate on the newly established South West law school in Ifaki Ekiti.
The IPU which is the umbrella body of all Ifaki sons and daughters of the town commended the 9th Senate for considering the town worthy to host law Students considering land availability and hospitality of the people of the town.
In the letter, jointly signed by Olufaki, Oba Adegbenro Falore, the IPU president Sir Alfred Ogunjana and the IPU vice president Alhaji Lanre Sule-Bakare, they thanked Senator Smart Adeyemi, for sponsoring the bill saying that they were not surprised of his outstanding personality due to his antecedents and pedigree.
Addressing the letter to the Senate President Ahmad Lawan, the IPU noted that the town had allocated a large expanse of lands for the proper take off of the institution either at their temporary or permanent site subject to the inspection of the Council of Legal Education.
They called the attention of the Senate to the media reports misgiving the school to another community in the state despite the name of Ifaki Ekiti appearing on the bill during the first, second and the third readings.
“Excellency sir, please be assured that all your names have been written in gold and annals of history in Ifaki-Ekiti. It may interest you to know that Ifaki-Ekiti is a nodal town in the
whole of Ekiti State; we are placed at the center, the map is a pointer to this undoubted fact.
We want to assure you that the good people of Ifaki-Ekiti are happy, and shall cooperate with the relevant authorities for the smooth take-off and operations of the Campus as soon as possible”
They gave kudos to president Muhammadu Buhari for giving assent to the bill while calling on the Senate to quickly address the situation and set the records straight in order to discontinue the misleading information from a section of the media able to jeopardize harmonious existence and peace of the communities.
