In commemoration of the International Youth Day 2023, the Ekiti Youth Parliament Members paid a working visit to the Speaker of the Ekiti House of Assembly on a need to embrace Youth Development through mentorship and internship for Members of the Parliament and Ekiti Youth in general. We presented a proposal on how to structure internship and mentorship for Ekiti Youths.
Institutionalizing internship for Youth Parliamentarians and structuring mentorship for Ekiti Youths will ultimately build the capacity of young people in Ekiti State, prepare them for effective leadership and allow the effective transfer of institutional memory.
This is necessary for deepeening and continuity
The Speaker, Rt Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, who was also a pioneering Member of the 1st Session of the Ekiti Youth Parliament, promised a robust engagement, inclusion and participation, while taking time to speak to the direct needs of young people in the State.
He reiterated his commitment to capacity building, but also advised cohesion and unity among the youth ranks in the State.
