KWARA, LAGOS FIRST LADIES, TONY ELUMELU, OTHERS NAMED MATRONS, PATRONS OF WORLD PEACE ORGANIZATION

The First Lady of Kwara State who’s also the Founder Ajike People Support Center Her Excellency Ambassador (Dr.) Olufolake Abdulrazaq and her counterpart, First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu have been appointed as the North Central and South West Matrons of the World Peace Organization (WPO) respectively.

The appointments was conveyed in a letter delivered to the appointees by the President/ Director General, Office of the World Peace Organization Nigeria Committee, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Olumuyiwa Babalola in Abuja.

According to Babalola the conferment was base on patriotism, loyalty, commitment, shown to peace and development of the Nigerian society and their remarkable contributions at every turn of Nigeria’s history.

Others on the list of honour were: HRM, Maj. Gen. (rtd) Muhammed Sani Sami, Gomo II, The Emir of Zuru, Kebbi who was the Former Military Governor (North West Patron), Hon.Yakubu Dogara (North East Patron), Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife (South East Patron), Chairman of United Bank of Africa (UBA) Tony Elumelu (South South Patron).

Prof Babalola further explain that the appointment was also to commemorate the 2022 International Day of Peace; annually observed every 21th of September. The UN General Assembly has declared the day to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

The day in Nigeria is slated for press conference that will highlight strategies that can profer solutions related to Peaceful coexistence in Nigeria and the existence of World Peace Organization and that day should be a day to take care of some less privileged people in all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

The appointees differently commended the WPO for the effort in Nigeria most especially in area of ensuring Free, Fair and non violent and credible  election in Nigeria in the recent time. They thanked the leadership of WPO and Prof Muyiwa Babalola for the recognition, pledging to do their best to continue promoting peaceful coexistence among the Nigerian peoples.

“The appointment as Matrons and Patrons of the Organization is based on their contributions to peaceful coexistence in the respective states and country and the unanimous decision of the World Peace Organization management.

World Peace Organization (WPO) operates to handle any negotiation subjects especially, peace and conflict resolutions, and political issues, to supervise and liberalise World and National Peace.

Recently, WPO supported United Nations’ Resolution Demanding Russia End Invasion on Ukraine and specialised Intergovernmental Organization that is responsible for peace that deals with global rules and conceived of as a critical sector in peace building processes in a number of capacities.
