EKITI NSCDC HOLDS FIRST STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT MEETING/ ANNUAL PRAYERS

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Ekiti State Command has held its first Strategic Management Meeting, and rounded off with Interfaith New Year Prayers for the year 2023 .

The service which took place at the Command’s headquarters along Ado /Ikere Road, Ekiti State had in attendance all the Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, Heads of Department and Units where prayers were offered for Nigeria’s growth and development, sustenance of the Corps and prayers for the protections of our Commandant General Ahmed Abukakar Audi mni PhD, Deputy Commandant Generals and other officers of the Corps.

Leading the prayers, the Chaplain of the Command ASCI Ajibua Ayokunle thanked God for his mercies over the Corps, Ekiti Command and the Country at large where he opined that it has been God all the way. The representative of the Chief Imam, ACC Gambari also prayed for the country and the Corps at large where he begged Allah for adequate protections over our men who are working assiduously to protect Nigeria’s critical national infrastructure and deter vandals from destruction of our national properties.

According to the CDPRO DSC Afolabi Tolulope, the highlight of the session was when a prayer was said in respect of weapon handling where the two religious heads prayed for God’s shield over all our arm bearers in the Corps. A moment of silence was observed for our officers that payed supreme prices for their father’s land from 2022 till date where they prayed that God in his mercies should grant the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and for the wisdom to cope with the current situation of the country.

The State Commandant John Olatunde Fayemi who concluded the prayer sessions thanked almighty God for his wonderful work in the Corps and give credence to the giant stride of the Commandant General for his numerous interventions to the Command and urged officers and men to continue in their efforts to justify tax payers’ money collected monthly.

Earlier in the day, the State Commandant held a meeting with all the leaders of all the formation of the Command in Ekiti State where all the Divisional Officers and other top management team participated.Also the State Commandant charged the officers and men on the need for preparation for the upcoming General Election, need for discipline and adherence to code of conduct of Security Agents before, during and after the election for the purpose of securing the nation’s democracy.

The meeting which lasted for about two hours enumerated some achievements recorded by some Divisional Officers where commendations were given for their efforts directed at stabilizing the newly created Local Council Development Areas Offices.

The State Commandant who frowned at the rate in which indiscipline is spreading in the Divisional Offices, warned that henceforth, disciplinary actions will be taken against any Divisional Officers or any personnel under them who indulge in absenteeism, with a view to correcting others.
